Geoff Johns’ Geiger is one of the options

Netflix is on the lookout for more comic-related shows. Among these is one from the DC creator, Geoff Johns.

For now, Netflix has struck a deal with the rights holder for a possibility in the future to acquire the property rights to develop it into a show.

Geiger is a 2050s story of a family man in a post-nuclear war Earth. Transformed into an irradiated, glowing protector, the story follows the protagonist as he faces off against radioactive mutants and warlords.

Geoff Johns collaborated with artist Gary Frank in co-creating Geiger, and began publishing it with Image Comics in 2021.

A show based on the property had been in the works with Paramount with Justin Simien (Dear White People) as the showrunner, but the idea hasn’t been developed into a full IP.

Netflix is exploring the opportunities with graphic novels. Other than Geiger, Netflix is eyeing IDW’s Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, Image’s The Infinite Horizon, and Dark Horse’s Radio Spaceman.

Currently, Netflix hasn’t made a comment or greenlit any show yet.
