James talks about reprising his comeback as Cyclops in interviews

James Marsden’s role, along with many other fellow X-Men, including Hugh Jackman’s Logan, aka Wolverine, began before the MCU was created in 2008’s X-Men. And now, he’s back as Scott Summers, aka Cyclops, in Avengers: Doomsday. After playing the role in the first X-Men trilogy, he shared a small cameo in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

In an interview with ScreenRant’s Ash Crossan, James talked about his comeback and how much it all weighed.

He explained how he studied each and every character’s ability and extends into consideration, and that changed the way he thought about Cyclops. The MCU status itself showed that he had to be better than before.

James had revealed in an interview with PEOPLE at SDCC on July 25 that he “always” hoped to return to the role.

Avengers: Doomsday is a fallout of the events of Avengers: Endgame, which might be revealed in its upcoming re-release as Avengers: Endgame Encore. The 39th MCU film is set to be a massive crossover event, bigger than any witnessed before, as we’ll have the Avengers, Wakandans, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, Talokanils, X-Men, Brotherhood of Mutants, and TVA, and more come together to fight Doctor Doom.
