Synopsis:

The first mutant of Marvel Comics, the son of the seas, finds someone special. His adventure as a wily teen and one of his first loves, Sandra Verdugo (reimagined version), is told in this. Soon, the forbidden love couples find themselves dragged into a corporate war for the ocean.

AWEsomeness:

The story is romantic and sweet. The art is very simple and colorful, favoring the plot.

My Review:

A wonderful book exploring the innocence of first love and compassion. The plot is very subtle as Namor’s duty is divided between land & sea. I remember I was introduced to Namor as a Spidey foe, but in time, I realized he’s a good fellow torn between his duties to land and sea. This book depicts one such incident during his teen years, where his people (Atlanteans) and pink skins (humans) come together. Mark Sumerak, Chris Eliopoulos, and Guriha have created an excellent, mind-blowing, blissful tale with a soft plot.

Rating: 3½/5
