Is it time yet!? Are the Absolutes really here!?
Okay, this was gonna happen sooner or later, for sure. Since its initiation in 2024, DC’s Absolute Universe has become a favorite topic for DC fans (One of us has a personal experience with an Absolute fan in Mumbai local). New takes on DC’s characters have been iconic in their own right. With the rising fandom and stuff, everyone knew that the main DCU would meet the Absolutes in the coming days/months/years.
Well, the wait’s over!
Warning! Proceed at your own risk! DC K.O. #3 Spoilers ahead!
In the newly released DC K.O. #3, by Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson, the final contestants from the mainline universe are revealed to be Superman, Wonder Woman, Joker, and Lex Luthor. Until the last page reveals the threat these 4 must face.
The four find themselves on a different Earth and ready to fight Booster Gold, along with the Absolute versions of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.
A K.O. crossover between the two versions looks somewhat hurried; at least it shouldn’t have happened for some more time. These versions could be darker manifestations caused by the Heart of Apokolips, instead of the original ones (as they have Darkseid’s Omega energy glowing on them).

Many think that the Absolute Universe needs some more time to build up its offenses & defenses before they meet their mainline counterparts.
But whatever be it, the stage is set, and as the fans have long known and long-waited, the mainline DCU is pitted against their Absolute counterparts. If these aren’t legit versions, then this can be considered a hell of a demo or a beta version of the actual crossover.
Currently, only one side has the complete trinity, but DC K.O.: Knightfight is hinting at the return of the mainline Batman in the DC K.O. And if that were to happen, then the Absolute Trinity will face off against the mainline Trinity; and that’s something worth watching.
DC K.O. #3 is on sale now, and DC K.O. #4 will be out in Feb ’26.
