Humberto Ramos’ variant cover for Avengers #30 confirms it!

Ever since the Disney-Marvel collaboration happened, we’ve seen less-expected impossibles become possible. We’ve seen Donald Duck lift Thor’s Mjolnir, or rather a cane which transforms into Mjolnir in Marvel & Disney: What If…? Donald Duck became Thor #1 (2024) and Goofy in the variant cover of Marvel & Disney: What If…? Mickey & Friends Became the Avengers, standing alongside Mickey and Minnie, who become Captain America and Iron-(Wo)Man, respectively.

Variant cover of Marvel & Disney: What If…? Mickey & Friends Became the Avengers was a Disney homage to Avengers #151 (1976) by Gerry Conway, Jim Shooter, Steve Englehart, George Perez, John Tartaglione, and Don Warfield.

Now, other than What If…? Scenarios, everyone thinks Elsa, Mulan, Buzz Lightyear, King Triton, or even Genie could be anyone’s guess, but a variant cover for Avengers #30 by Humberto Ramos has someone else.

But, now Disney has confirmed an unexpected one, a really cute one, worthy of Mjolnir!

Yeah, that someone is none other than Stitch gripping Mjolnir between his teeth! This also confirms Stitch’s worthiness.

As the Asgardian saying goes, only a worthy one can lift it.  Stitch, created for chaos and destruction, can be seen on one of the five variant covers with Stitch; The Avengers one has Stitch with Mjolnir. Others featuring Stitch are: The Amazing Spider-Man #11, Fantastic Four #3, X-Men #22, and Captain America #3. These variants will be available in Sept 2025.

Stitch with Mjolnir underlines his character. Albeit Dr. Jumba Jookiba created him for destruction, he develops empathy and loyalty in his relationship with Lilo. Backing this feat, Marvel states that Mjolnir responds to inner strength instead of brute force, and Stitch’s development from being a force of destruction to a compassionate companion signifies that.

These variant covers will be available in September 2025, while the live-action ‘Lilo & Stitch’ released on 23rd May.
