With DCU’s Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters getting started, the hot topic is, ‘Who will be playing the Dark Knight!?‘

Yeah, with the reins on DCU starting to get pulled, the hottest topic among fans is, ‘Who will be the Batman?’ Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves’ The Batman was well-received by many. As per the speculations of Matt Reeves, fans are excitedly waiting for it to be true.

But, yeah, there’s always a but…

… DCU seems to be looking to introduce its own version of Batman into play!

Recently, on Threads, a fan shared a link on why Pattinson’s Batman should make it into the DCU franchise with the lines, “Please have a look at this article James. Internet is buzzing with this topic! All of us DC fans want this. (And I think you too).” 

This led to James Gunn giving a short, but sweetened response, “All” would seem to be pushing it.” Several fans agreed to it. The Batman 2 is meant to start by the end of 2025, and The Brave and The Bold is still in the writing mode.

A few things to be realized about the DCU’s Batman are:

• Creature Commandos, stated that it’s been a while since Batman has been in play, while Matt Reeves’ Batman has just started his journey, and so James’ Batman’s gotta be someone older than Robert Pattinson

• The Brave and The Bold is set to focus on Batman and his son, Damian Wayne, inspired by Grant Morrison’s Batman & Robin run of the New 52. Moreover, it is said to feature other members of the Bat-Family, so again, James’ Batman’s gotta be older than Reeves

With a star yet to be cast for The Brave and The Bold, everyone is sitting excitedly to know who will take up the cowl now. Also, all are excited to know how Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2 will play out with the emergence of The Riddler. Fingers are crossed to see if the universes will merge or not!?

The Batman 2 is hitting big screens on October 1, 2027.
