The first Slaughtverse-DC crossover
BOOM Studios Official Full November 2026 Solicits lead with Swamp Thing Is Killing the Children #1, a crossover with DC Comics’ Black Label.
Yeah, the first week of December 2026 is giving us Swamp Thing Is Killing the Children #1, an intriguing crossover between Swamp Thing from DC and Boom Studios’ very own Something Is Killing the Children, by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera with a set of 15 covers. Here’re some of those covers:

In a world where the fears of children manifest into living, breathing monsters, this standalone crossover brings one of horror’s most iconic characters straight into the Slaughterverse! Two siblings who are lifelong comics fans and the older brother, a fan of horror comics, even has a Swamp Thing poster on his wall, while the younger one loves superhero comics and is terrified of his brother’s set. That childhood fear manifests as a living monster resembling Swamp Thing. And soon, Erica Slaughter gets involved to hunt down horror’s most recognizable figure — Swamp Thing himself!
An original, passionate idea from James Tynion IV, which he had spent almost two and a half years pitching to DC, mainly to EIC Marie Javins, to greenlight the crossover. It was announced at a Boom Studios panel celebrating the publisher’s 20th anniversary at New York Comic Con in October ’25.
James has emphasized that there are deeper, more metatextual connections beyond the poster-inspired manifestation, and an essence of the true Alec Holland will appear. James Tynion IV regards the story as a deep personal bond and tribute to his love to DC horror comics.
Swamp Thing is Killing the Children #1 will be out on December 2, 2026.
