The newest variant is one of the strangest variants, too
Yeah, those colored rocks or pieces of Superman & Supergirl’s home planet, Krypton, aren’t much of the dearest things of the lost home world remains for the Kryptonians, and now one more variant has been uncovered. And just like its family, even this has one of the weirdest twisted powers.
DC has officially introduced a new Kryptonite that is very unique—an enchanted turquoise Kryptonite!

Kara Zor-El, Supergirl, is its first victim in the known records, so far. A brand-new color variant with an embedded twist of enchantment. Much is unknown, but Supergirl #7 (2025) unveils a glance into its twistedness.
Supergirl finds herself transformed into a red-tailed mermaid. The issue opens with Kara having transformed. After her transformation, she meets Princess Shark, who confesses to Supergirl’s situation.


First introduced on The Meteor from Krypton, the seven-episode storyline of The Adventures of Superman radio series (June 1943), Kryptonite has been a powerful element in the DCU ever since. More newer variants of Kryptonite were introduced in Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum, including purple, cobalt, and speckled, each has unique effects on a Kryptonian. How Princess Shark found it or recognized it is not known. We may know about it later or maybe not, but this sure is one of the strangest variants of the most dangerous minerals to exist in the DCU.
