Did they finally introduce Barbara Wilson to the comics!?

After the shocking death of everyone’s favorite Alfred Pennyworth in Batman #77 (Aug 2019), one of the gripping Batman events, Batman: City of Bane, the Waynes never hired a new butler. But now, it’s time.

Yeah, DC Comics is bringing in a new butler, and she is connected to Alfred Pennyworth.

Yeah, so far not much is known, but as far as we know, Barbara Wilson making her debut in Batman #12, is Alfred’s niece, daughter of his sister Margaret “Peg” Wilson.

The same basic family setup created in the 1997 Schumacherverse’s Batman & Robin, where Alicia Silverstone played Barbara Wilson, aka Batgirl.

The creative team teases suggest she’s being reintroduced similarly, just like in the movie, as a younger, tech‑savvy, highly capable legacy figure entering Wayne Manor and Batman’s orbit, possibly to help or challenge Bruce after Alfred’s absence.

Currently, no biography has been released. More will be revealed when the issue comes out.

The only synopsis we have is:

“Six of the world’s deadliest killers have descended on Gotham City at once—but who hired them, and who’s the target? Surely, it can’t be the Batman…As the Caped Crusader races to uncover who set this deadly plan in motion, the late Alfred Pennyworth provides a gift from beyond the grave with the arrival of a brilliant new ally to the Bat-Family at a time when it needs one most”.

Batman #12 will hit the stores in Aug.
