Is it a coincidence or an intentional writing; only the writer knows for sure

Daredevil: Born Again, Season 02, Episode 04: Gloves Off, has everyone talking. And if it is to be believed, the cosmic character, Uatu the Watcher, made his presence felt without even ruffling a feather in the episode.

Yeah, Brad Winderbaum, the head of Marvel TV and Animation, revealed on Instagram the presence of the cosmic character as Daredevil runs past in a dark alleyway.

Brad commented on the speculation, “Always watching.”

But Brad’s comment was like adding gasoline to the Watcher’s appearance in Daredevil, talk. Some are buying it without question:

A few mixed opinions’re floating. No fans are sure, or did they just see what their show-pumped-head wanted to see?

Yeah, some believe Brad is just playing the audience, as one said: “I think he’s just having fun and leaning into Redditors’ speculation.”

While the commenter has backup from another who views it similarly: “Even if it was a coincidence, I wouldn’t blame them if they acted like it was planned. It turned out so well that it’s almost strange if it turns out to have been a coincidence.”

Notably, a group of Watchers has appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on live-action MCU, and an animated version voiced by Jeffrey Wright has featured in What If…? and I Am Groot.

Many believe that Marvel won’t be bringing in a cosmic character unless they have some plan to tie the complete MCU acts together. Apart from that thought, Watchers do look into major events across the cosmos. Now, the Battle for New York between Daredevil and Wilson Fisk is no small feat, so the possibilities are high for Uatu to ‘watch’ how the event unfolds.

Daredevil: Born Again S03 is in production and is scheduled for 2027.
