Synopsis:

Twelve-year-old Artemis Fowl is a brilliant criminal mastermind. But even Artemis doesn’t know what he’s taken on when he kidnaps a fairy, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit. These aren’t the fairies of bedtime stories. These fairies are armed, and they’re dangerous. Artemis thinks he’s got them just where he wants them, but then they stop playing by the rules…

The plot is cool with surprising twists. The art is stylish and captures the imagination to a new level.

My Review:

Artemis Fowl, the entire series, is superb and one of the best YA fantasy series. I just love it, so when the graphic novel came, I’d to have it in my Pandora. It was the time of HP and LOTR, when one of my brothers introduced Arty to me and one of our sisters. Once I started reading it, I instantly fell for the plot and action on the pages. It was exactly like the novel; it was mind-blowing. The story zips along with the amazing artwork, structuring the characters wonderfully. The visuals make the book come alive just like the one the readers experience. I think the exact sharpness of some dialogues was missing, but that can be ignored. The story and art capture a 12-yr-old boy’s emotion and curiosity well, but at the same time, the art helped to depict this boy as nothing like the other boys.

When the movie came out, there were fucking monstrogumous changes, and the Disney movie was a total piece of shit! This graphic novel adaptation of the original book is infinitely better than the flick. Paolo’s coloring synced well with Giovanni’s art, along with Eoin’s writing and Andrew’s expertise to structure the graphic novel format, all together, highlighted the depth and tone of the plot as meant.
