Synopsis:

A new reporter, Ty Duffy, at the Daily Planet is assigned to write a story on the anniversary of Superman’s Death. It retells Doomsday’s rampage and how everyone dealt with the death of everyone’s protector, Superman. It retells how one single earth-shattering episode toppled the lives of the people, everyone, who were residing till then in a world with Superman. At the same time, Superman is investigating some supposedly random accidents occurring along the very path that Doomsday walked, wreaking havoc on Metropolis.

AWEsomeness:

The sketchy-styled, gritty art is really awesome to sync with the plot. It gives the feel of retelling something drastic.

My Review:

The plot’s a good one, but it could have been better. The mysterious character is just a filler kind of guy, not a big deal. The closure was just okayish, but with a bit of coerced veil of shame and guilt. Other than its mixed attributes, I would suggest this book is a good one and can be checked with the Death and Return of Superman arc as a companion. Although it appears a bit similar to ‘World Without A Superman’ as it focuses mainly on the fear and loss felt by the people after Superman’s death, it is still a good one to have in your collection to understand Clark/Superman’s feelings regarding the dark episode in his life.
