Synopsis:

A demoness awakens from a centuries-long slumber and turns a life to evil feeding on the anger & pain. This is a story of a thirst for vengeance granted by a sinister beauty and malevolent power to make the tormentors and bullies learn a hardcore lesson.

Every gift has a price!

AWEsomeness:

The plot is good, showcasing the character’s turn to evil with the problems and taunts received from others. The art is equally marvelous showing the consequences.

My Review:

This story, from the Dynamite house, is a good one, but it seems to be a bit rushed. This is an original graphic novel that bought two of the most creative minds from the East and West, Mike Carey and Sumit Basu. The art is great depicting Jara for her beauty and mysticism. The title is apt to the plot and the sufferings suffered by the innocent protagonist. It is a bit predictable, but it builds the eagerness to know how the story unfolds. It is sort of an evil origin story, with an intriguing tone of East meets West!

Rating: 5/5
