Synopsis:

Alfred Pennyworth served the Wayne family for decades. Alfred was more than just a butler; he was the glue that held the Bat-Family together. His death at the hands of Bane is the event that shakes the family like nothing else. Now, how will they deal with this massive blow, and will this tear the family apart?

AWEsomeness:

The art and story were more of a mixed bag of emotions, syncing well with each other.

My Review:

This is a wonderful, and as aforementioned, the art synced well with the stories, albeit different artists worked different perspectives. Alfred is a very essential character in a Batman story, loved by everyone inside (and outside) the book. How the group feels the loss and how they vent out their frustration is depicted well, and also highlights Bruce’s struggle to hold his family together without Alfred. I personally thought a tribute to Alfred would be at least a two-issue story, and in some places, it felt a bit rushed to end this in one issue. Each character shares their individual memories of Alfred, celebrating Alfred. Damian and Barbara’s stories felt a lot closer to the heart. Dick, aka Ric’s, Jason’s, and Tim’s, stories were okayish, I guess. And with many artists on the story, each artist had their own piece, and the colors by Lucas, Lokus, and Fairbern are amazing, tying the stories together. Well, as it was a bit rushed, it wasn’t everything, but the book is fine…a somber tale. It tells how sorrow can affect a family. There were some minor flaws, possibly overlooked by the editor in charge, but other than those, it was a good tribute to Alfred Pennyworth, the butler we all grew up with.
