Synopsis:

Before becoming known to the world and beyond as Superman, Clark Kent lived with a secret! An anthology of seven stories leading to the introduction of the American alien, Superman.

AWEsomeness:

The plot is outstanding as it plays out a series of beautifully composed vignettes; the art was of a standing-out category.

My View:

This is a beautiful take on the myth of the Man of Steel. His ways and his nature are all depicted well. The art does justice. And the 1-page ending at the early few issues just pumps up the adrenaline for the thrill. Superman’s origin retelling has been modified a lot, but the core remains the same with a few villains and heroes making their entries. I personally enjoyed the book, as the changing visuals mirror Clark’s intake of life at different stages when they become more sophisticated and iconic with struggle and control over fame, identity, love, and trust as the story jumps forward.

Rating: 4½/5
