Synopsis:
Cain, son of Adam. Inventor of murder, cursed by God. The closest thing this doomed world has to a savior. It’s 1,655 years after Eden, and life on Earth has already gone to hell. The world of man is a place of wanton cruelty and wickedness. Prehistoric monsters and stone-age marauders roam the land. Murder and destruction are the rules of the day. Humankind is a failed experiment. The story of a man on the verge of his first apocalypse. Welcome to the world of the Goddamned!
AWEsomeness:
The art is good and gory as expected. The plot was fine, but almost predictable taking the situation, but nicely said. The setting and the art are amazing rhyming with the plot.
My View:
I’m curious to know what happened to Cain after he was banished from paradise. Well, this doesn’t give a lot and isn’t exactly as said in the scriptures, but for starters, it’s good enough. The book is full of goddamn blood, violence, and gore and has the “goddamn” said on almost every page. The book also has a bloodier version of Noah. There are guttural, brutal natures depicted on the pages making it gorier throughout. It tells a tale of a time so terrible that God almost gave up on his creation, and in every panel, you can feel the weight of a goddamned world; a world abandoned and soon to be destroyed. But, I think it was a good read though it was a bit predictable. This predictability made it seem more one-dimensional, but overall the art and the plot sync well giving it an expression. The next book I guess is more of a prequel which I may or may not buy; only time will tell. I buy it or not, this is indeed a good piece for my Pandora!
