Marvel’s Phase 5 is almost here!

As Thunderbolts* date is approaching i.e. May 2025, its first poster is out! The Thunderbolts* trailer showed the team coming together against their will. And the trailer does indicate that this is not gonna be an Avengers-like team-up sort of flick.

In Marvel Comics, Thunderbolts are assembled to replace Avengers as the world’s famous superheroes to hide their evil intentions. The team also has Baron Zemo and Goliath. Now the trailer showed that the movie is gonna play out differently albeit each character have a dark and volatile past.

Breaking the Trend

Marvel movie posters were wonderful, but they were had the normalish look. Main characters in a fighting pose or in the center and rest of the cast or sequence were photoshopped or edited around. But now, the Thunderbolts* poster has everyone interacting with one another, more like they’re fighting to fit the frame.

Yeah, yeah, even the Defenders‘ poster too had that look. In that everyone was on each other’s good page, but here the case is different. No one can trust each other completely.

What Makes it Stand Out

Other than the impending doom or a character’s ability, none of the MCU posters so far gave any idea of the team’s build up or trust factor. Thunderbolts* poster speaks otherwise. It evidently shows the team’s discomfort with each other. It has Yelena and Bucky looking disappointed while Bob looks scared and Ghost seems to enjoy the fight. Taskmaster, Red Guardian, and John Walker seem to be frustrated.

With Kevin Fiege producing, Jake Schreier will direct Thunderbolts*, and it is set to premiere in U.S. theaters on May 2, 2025.
