The final season is set to premiere on July 3 on Netflix

Come July, it’s been three years since The Sandman first premiered on Netflix. The show was a brilliant one indeed. The wait won’t have taken this long if it had not been for Neil Gaiman getting accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women.

Allan Heinberg, the showrunner, claims that two seasons were always the plan.

As per Netflix synopsis: After being called together, Dream faces an impossible decision after another as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the waking world from the epic fallout of his past misdeeds. To make amends, Dream must confront longtime friends and foes, gods, monsters, and mortals. But the path to forgiveness is full of unexpected twists and turns, and true absolution may cost Dream everything. Based on the beloved, award-winning DC comic series, the second season of THE SANDMAN will tell Dream’s story arc in full to its thrilling conclusion.

Fans of the show will get a family reunion of The Endlessβ€”Dream (Tom Sturridge), Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), Desire (Mason Alexander Park), Despair (Donna Preston), Destiny (Adrian Lester), and Delirium (EsmΓ© Creed-Miles) and Destruction (Barry Sloane).

This time, the final season is split into two, as usual for Netflix. Volume 1, consisting of six episodes, will premiere on 3rd July, while the next five will be aired as Volume 2 on 24th July. It’s a frustrating way to end the series, but still better considering the volume gaps some of the other series take.
