It’s time to remember a classic!
Disney is one of the greatest pals of every kid, gifting them with wonderful classics and animations. Of all those gems, one of the cherished ones is none other than Disney’s Tarzan.
Well what do we say, but it’s been 25 years since Disney’s Tarzan appeared. The last gem of Disney’s Renaissance was released on Jun 18, 1999.

Who is Tarzan?
Tarzan is an orphaned boy nurtured by a gorilla, Kala. And with the arrival of a British expedition, he encounters humans for the first time. From there a journey of self-discovery starts with the entrance of a girl, love, and a villain in between come into the story.
Among the movies of 1999, Tarzan was the fifth highest-grossing film with its vibrant theme and smoothish storytelling way. But, it was underappreciated and barely recognized by Disney fans and enthusiasts.
Tarzan redefined the family concept by stating that families come in all forms. By showing Kala nurturing the orphaned boy to the love between Jane and her father. Tarzan pushed the boundaries of 2D animation, and its fusion with the integration of 3D lush jungle scenes was a feast for the eyes. The lighting effects were superb adding layers of excitement to the storytelling process. It incorporated complex acrobatics and skating stunts that kept the audience in awe.
It was filled with sprinkled humor balancing the adventure, romance, tragedy, and comedy to a new level. And mixing them with empowering music was timeless and something perpetual.

The Bondings
Tarzan’s first appearance was in the 1912 novel Tarzan of the Apes, which was later adapted into a newspaper comic strip. Later in 1947, through Dell Comics, Western Publishing gave Tarzan a series of his own and later through their very own Gold Key Comics. Later, over the years, Tarzan appeared in comic books from various publishers, notably Charlton Comics, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Pidalio Press Corporation, Marketprint, and Soleil Productions.
Tarzan: The Encounter and Tarzan: Call of the Jungle opened at Disneyland Paris and Shanghai Disneyland, but they closed. Additionally, in 1999 and 2005, a Tarzan attraction called Tarzan’s Treehouse opened in Disneyland in California, and Hong Kong Disneyland, respectively.
Disney recently rethemed the Californian version of Tarzan’s Treehouse to Adventureland Treehouse inspired by Swiss Family Robinson, but Hong Kong Disneyland still has the Tarzaized-version. But as per the website, it is closed for refurbishment, for now.

25 years have passed since Disney’s Tarzan left its impression on many minds. Even today, it still stands as a breakthrough in the animation industry.
Tarzan is available to stream now on Disney+.
So, it’s time to shout at the top of your lungs, AAAAAAh-ahhah-ahhah-ahhah-AAAAAAAAAAh!
