Rogue One is still considered one of the best Star Wars flicks ever

Let the Force Be With You is a catchphrase of all time…it never gets old. We’ve dozens of Star Wars flicks and series around us, all the time. Of this, Rogue One is considered a true anomaly and is still one of the best Star Wars movies.

Albeit not being part of the Skywalker Saga, with its debut almost a decade back, Rogue One: A Star Wars Movie captured the hearts of fans new and old alike. In a recent interview with GamesRadar+, Gareth Edwards, director of Rogue One, shared:

“I mean, I’m just eternally relieved that I don’t walk across the street and people don’t shout that I ruined their childhood…I hate the word ‘franchise,’ really, and ‘IP.’ It sort of diminishes… Like, to me, these movies were sort of semi-religious experiences as a kid, watching them, and so they mean a lot.”

Seeing the accusations of ruining their childhood by many Star Wars fans at some of the creators, Gareth’s aforementioned quote is a perfect example of the fans’ approach to his take.

And as we all know, Star Wars is something of a nostalgia and religious, considering the fanbase from the time of the original trilogy. Fortunately, Gareth’s project escaped such accusations, but instead, it was well-received with open hands and a great smile by everyone.

One of the main characters, Cassian Andor’s story before Rogue One, is now shown as a series, Andor, which is more of a Rogue One spin-off. Even this is widely received by fans all over the globe, and is regarded as one of the best Star Wars series. Everyone agrees that this success is mainly coz of Rogue One, and standing outside the Skywalker Saga, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is clearly one of the franchise’s greatest achievements.
