Superman vs. Homelander proves they’re nearly equal, but Superman is clearly the supreme!
In DC K.O.: Boss Battle #1, a one-shot by the creative team of Jeremy Adams, Ronan Cliquet, Carmine Di Giandomenico, Kieran McKeown, Pablo M. Collar, Hi-Fi, and Tom Napolitano, it was a Crossover Battle Royale featuring characters from various houses. And among these CBRs, one of the most awaited ones happened…
…Superman vs. Homelander!

The Big Blue from the DCU went in toes against one of the most corrupted mirrors of him. This battle settled any confusion about their respective power levels and comparative strength.

Both the super-powers trade punches and heat vision, which seemed evenly matched. Neither of them took any serious damage, except that Superman scored by head-butting Homelander.

Although the fight is left unfinished, it confirmed that Superman has what he needs to win, more than Homelander thinks he has.
The fight proves that Homelander was fighting to kill Superman, while Supes temperament doesn’t let him take another life, and so it is damn clear that Superman was holding back and only trying to knock his opponent off, at the most.
Fans have been waiting anxiously ever since the news about The Boys’ Homelander’s entry in the Boss Battle was announced. Superman could have put a ‘period’ to the debate…
…but we know that, in an inter-company crossover, no company will try to show their flagship character get stomped, so we haven’t gotten the battle in full mode yet.
In DC K.O.: Boss Battle #1, we get to see Joker vs. Annabelle, Wonder Woman vs. Red Sonja, Luthor vs. Samantha Strong, Star Sapphire vs. Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Batwoman vs. Vampirella, Black Lightning and Plastic Man vs. Sub-Zero and Scorpion, and finally Superman vs. Homelander.
After enough Omega Energy is collected, the champions are zapped back to the Absolute Universe. Homelander doesn’t get to kill the Kryptonian the way he wanted, nor does the last son of Krypton finish the battle the way fans expected.
This surely looks like an opening for a Justice League vs. The Seven.
