Superman steps out of Gotham’s most legendary storyline ever!

James Gunn and David Corenswet’s Superman is on a full-fledged journey of creating the DCU. Superman was indeed the main character, but still, he is just one character, and the film is one flick of a wider DCU universe, which’ll have Supergirl, Batman, and Wonder Woman. But before that, Supes is getting a new figure from Batsy’s one popular story.

Yup, my mate, McFarlane Toys is gonna release a black-and-white accent Gold Label seven-inch Superman figurine from 1986’s The Dark Knight Returns as part of the DC Multiverse set.

It’s a bulky figure with a stylish ‘House of El’ insignia. Also, there’s a character art card with the stand. McFarlane is no amateur to a Superman figure, taking this year for an instance with the release of Superman.  This one’s chest emblem makes it stand out.

The Dark Knight Returns is a Batman story, but Superman plays a major role. Bruce Wayne, who is 50-something, comes out of retirement and picks up the Dark Knight cowl to save Gotham from the Mutant gang ruckus. Superman is called in by the U.S. govt. to take him down. Frank Millar’s plot and the art made this book an epic.

Batman vs. Superman in the book is considered a famous battle between the two. Even Zack Snyder took influence from the book and recreated an almost similar sequence in his Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and it was amazing. But, in the end of DKR, the fight ends with Batman’s staged death via heart attack.

We will be seeing DCU’s Batman in The Brave and The Bold, although he won’t be as old as he is in The Dark Knight Returns. TBTB will be loosely or fully based on Batman and Son by Grant Morrison.

The Superman figure in question’ll be $37.23.
