The new Superman Experience trailer revealed James Gunn’s Darkseid

DC Studios revealed its first look at the DCU’s reboot version of Darkseid.

Oh, yeah. Most of the fans had anticipated that the dark lord would be the ultimate big bad of DCU’s Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters. Albeit the Chapter title sounded like a bit of a big giveaway, James had ruled out the possibility, in a joint interview with New Rockstars’ Erik Voss (08:25-09:43) and ScreenCrush’s Heather Antos and Ryan Arey (07:19-08:29).

James said, “…using Darkseid as the big bad right now is not necessarily the thing.”

But as we know or expect, Darkseid will make a debut in the upcoming animated series, Mister Miracle.

Following, DC Studios officially released a trailer for Superman Experience: Defenders Unite for its launch on April 18, 2026.

At the timestamp of 0:33, we get to see the evilly laughing dark god of Apokolips in holographic form as he unleashes chaos.

Superman Experience: Defenders Unite is confirmed to conclude with a clash between the last son of Krypton and the ruler of Apokolips.

Even if it was a hologram, Darkseid’s image captures his presence and evil vibe. James’ Darkseid will feature the glowing red eyes, vibrant blue armor with the Omega insignia, and his ruthless build.

Starting on April 18, 2026, Superman Experience: Defenders Unite will be held at Stage 5 on the Warner Bros. Studios lot.

With an original storyline, this interactive adventure’ll allow fans to work alongside Superman, Supergirl, and Krypto as they encounter a mysterious global threat posed by a powerful artifact.

Players can experience flying (of course, via simulation) in the skies alongside Superman and a training session on the Kent farm with Krypton. And the experience will culminate with the guests using their powers and training to help Superman take down Darkseid.

Supergirl, in it, suggests that she, too, will join the battle at some point or at the end. In this Superman Experience, one will visit the Fortress of Solitude, interact with Robot #4 aka Gary, and more.

With the next-gen motion capture technology, active 3D glasses, and HD audio at their disposal, Defenders Unite will bring Superman’s adventure to life.

Superman Experience: Defenders Unite will be at Stage 5 on the Warner Bros. Studios lot, commencing on Saturday, April 18.
