Spread the love

The core concept of the Trinity’s each member is revealed!

DC’s Trinity consists of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman. They’re the strongest pillars of heroism and valor within DCU. The three heroes have ideals that, though they seem the same, they aren’t.

Warning! Proceed at your own risk! Wonder Woman #14, #18 (2023) spoilers ahead!

Wonder Woman proceeds to take down the Sovereign once and for all with full determination. She takes down all those who stand on her path. The Sovereign narrates what’s driving his opponent forth:

“She did not fight for ascendancy, or vengeance, or even justice. No, God help us. She fought for love.”

Trinity’s primary motivation that drives them

Batman fights for vengeance,

Superman fights for justice,

And Wonder Woman fights for love.

These core principles set them apart. All three are looked upon by others for inspiration as they fight for the betterment of mankind or the universe.

As per Mark Waid, the lead writer behind Justice League Unlimited, Batman’s fight for vengeance ties into his past when he watched his parents die at the hands of Joe Chill. He vows that no child will suffer his fate. Superman fights for justice by fighting for the ones who are helpless against the evil they face for truth, justice, and a better tomorrow.

But, Wonder Woman doesn’t fight for vengeance or justice. But she’s fighting for her love, by mourning the loss of Steve Trevor at the hands of the Sovereign in Wonder Woman #14. Even when Grail urges her to let go of the mortal, Diana refuses.

Wonder Woman’s loving and caring nature is an integral part of her character. She had left Themyscira to live among humans, as she felt obligated to preserve them using her Amazonian gifts. Despite these varying motivations, the Trinity is equally unique and fights for the greater good when summed together. Their core might be different, but in the end, the Trinity members; Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman are similar in ways that matter uniquely displaying their efforts and traits.
