Death is not always the end, but could be start of something new!

We all are familiar with the 19th-century nursery rhyme,

🎶🎼Solomon Grundy,🎼🎶

🎶🎼Born on a Monday,🎼🎶…

Well, Solomon Grundy, one of the oldest and most underrated DCU characters, has brought a new kick to the lines, with the help of the place where he was killed and came back alive, Slaughter Swamp, paranormal wetlands on the outskirts of Gotham.

Warning! Proceed at your own risk! Poison Ivy #24 Spoilers ahead!

In the last issue, Pamela Isley sacrificed herself to eliminate her personal Joker, Dr. Jason Woodrue, at the murky Slaughter Swamp. It was a heartbreak moment for every Harley+Ivy fan everywhere. And now, Harley’s Red is back, Poison Ivy is back. Yeah, she’s back!

A Swampy Revival

Solomon Grundy carries her body into the depths of the swamp, hoping for the best.

In All-American Comics #61 (1944), Green Lantern: Fighters Never Quit, Cyrus Gold, a wealthy but shady businessman was murdered and dumped in the same swamp decades ago.

Mixed with the swamp’s rotting flora, detritus, and unknown process, Gold lives again, powerful and immortal with his body transformed into an undead-zombie sort. He was rechristened ‘Solomon Grundy’ after he was heard repeating ‘Born on a Monday’ the second line of the nursery rhyme ‘Solomon Grundy’. Grundy in time has gone against many heroes, and having died on multiple occasions his memory is also muddled. Albeit he is a supervillain, he has shown an inclination towards heroic deeds a few times, especially recently.

Remembering the unexplained power of the swamp, Grundy leaves Isley in it. And then it happens, the Tree of Life speaks to her and rejuvenates her for saving the green.

Good News for Fans!

Harlivy romance has a large number of fans, and this cheers them up. Never has a supervillain turned anti-hero ever received such huge hope or joy for their return. And like The Return of Superman, hinted by the dying pose in the arms of Harley Quinn, Ivy is back. After all, no one stays dead for long in comics? 😉 Thus, bringing the series’ first arc to a close with happy endings after a two-year run. But it seems something is brewing as Ivy notices a never-before-seen town in the marshlands, what could this be!?
