A four-year-old manga prophecy affects July 2025 travel plans
A Japanese manga creator, Ryo Tatsuki aka The New Baba Vanga (dubbed after the famed Bulgarian clairvoyant), has detailed a terrifying vision in her book, Watashi ga mita mirai (The Future I Saw), that has built fear in mass travelers sending ripples around the world.
Yeah, Hong Kong tourists have canceled or postponed their Japan trips this summer. They fear that the natural disaster in early July referenced in the book may come true.
Ryo Tatsuki became nicknamed the modern-day oracle as one of her earlier volumes of the same manga, published in 1999, infamously predicted an earthquake in March 2011. And it happened! A devastating TΕhoku earthquake of 9.0 magnitude and a tsunami struck Japan, as the cover featured a message, βGreat disaster, year 2011 month 3, that is, March,β which many consider as a prophecy of the fateful day.
In her book, Ryo has detailed a horrifying vision in which the sea boils in the south of Japan and a mega-tsunami is formed due to the seismic activity near Japan, in July 2025. This tsunami turns out to be three times taller than the 2011 one. This also impacts neighbouring countries including Taiwan and the Philippines, and the astonishing part is that this volume was published four years back.

Travel bookings are crashing by 50%, while some flight routes are down by 83%. Airlines are cutting flights, as mass cancelations are reported by travel agencies.
βIt is better to believe it exists than to believe it does not exist,β says Hong Konger Brian Lee, βThereβs no need to risk oneβs life,β as he canceled his plans to Japan.
If itβs to be seen, Ryo has also predicted the return of Covid-19 in 2030, with more destruction than the original outbreak.
Ryo claimed to have predicted several events like the 1995 Kobe earthquake, the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, the Covid-19 pandemic, the deaths of Princess Diana and Freddy Mercury, and also some not yet occurred disasters such as the eruption of Mount Fuji. These supposed predictions or happenings happen after specific time intervals (15 days, 15 years, etc.) after prophetic dreams.Β In her bookβs revised edition, she claims, she dreamed of a giant seaquake on July 5, 2025, but the day has passed. So far, so good!Β
Scientists are saying that natural disasters canβt be predicted, but it looks like people are not ready to take chances. Even some Feng Shui masters in Hong Kong have cautioned about natural disasters in Japan this year. Even after Ryoβs cautioned requests, the public is more focused on Ryoβs track records on the matter than the scientistsβ words.
