Christmas comes a bit early!
Okay, the news is out! Netflix wins the deal. This was one hell of a bid war as Netflix rivaled Comcast and Paramount for ownership.
As per the reports, the deal closed with Netflix offering $28 per share and with Paramount offering $27. Comcast and Netflix were enticed to the studio and streaming biz only, unlike Paramount, which was interested in buying the entire company.

This was a fast-moving auction, with Warner hoping to close the deal within this month.
By winning this deal, Netflix acquires the Warner Bros. Studios and HBO Max streaming assets. With this acquisition, Netflix will now own the rights for the DC film and TV universe (except Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy), Mortal Kombat, Harry Potter, Conjuring, Matrix, GoT, LOTR, HBO, the MGM pre-May 1986 catalog, The Big Bang Theory, Looney Tunes, Euphoria, and so on. That’s one heck of a library.
WBD CEO David Zaslav was offered a role by Paramount if both companies fused; what role he’d have in the new Netflix-Warner setup is anyone’s guess! With this merger, Snyderverse hopes are taking flight among fans.
Not much has been disclosed about the deal, but for now, Netflix did it!
