DC making way for more Absolute versions!

In the world of comics, multiverses play a big role in making the plots and art complex and more complex at unimaginable levels. DC Comics is no stranger to complexities ranging across the multiverses. And now to the list of complexities, we have a new addition, the Absolute Universe. And like every origin, this too has an origin, but that is tied to someone no one will expect—the lord of Apokolips—Darkseid!

Yeah, you read that right!

Absolute Universe, a brand-new universe with new exciting comics containing the new mind-bending interpretations of its own Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, and Martian Manhunter, rolled out with new revelations poking around.

This dark universe is all part of Darkseid’s ultimate plan, and everything starts with his death.

Death and Creation

DC’s major 2024 event, Absolute Power, played a big part in unleashing it—it laid the foundation. Darkseid is considered an energy that binds all worlds together, and with that realization, Darkseid decides to be reborn in a universe that favors him. And for that, he gets himself killed intentionally. Darkseid attacks the Justice League out of the blue, after the Multiverse was sealed off following the events of Absolute Power. And following this, Darkseid was able to merge his consciousness with the Elseworld, the very fabric of reality, which appears to be an alternate dimension completely isolated from the rest of the Multiverse.

As we know, the DC Multiverse isn’t something that can be seen lightly; it has been a major factor in DC storytelling for quite some time. So, DC is just trying to simplify all storytelling for now, importantly noting that Snyder promises that the multiverse isn’t gone forever, instead – and just for now – it’s cut off.

How’ll the Absolute Universe Affect DC Comics!?

It’s been almost close to a year since DC All In Special #1 was launched. With new interpretations of the characters we all love, this new universe, albeit, it stems from a malicious origin.

Yes, the Absolute Justice League is gonna happen!

DC’s Absolute titles are in full swing, and it is no surprise that fans are eager to see the heroes come together. In a Comic Book Couple Counseling podcast, Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta briefly pointed out the big plans for this new universe. Scott revealed “Yes! We’re excited to have the books cross this year.”

And later, in a July 9 Twitter post, when the architect of Absolute Universe, Scott, was asked about the Absolute Justice League, he replied cryptically, “Meetings are coming in winter…”

As the old saying goes, ‘Good things come in time,’ we still have more characters lined up to be revealed, so let’s hope, wait, and see.
